  • Who is Liberty?
    Liberty Breast Prosthesis is owned by Technovent Ltd, a specialist manufacturer and supplier of medical prosthetics materials for over 15 years. We create bespoke breast prostheses for women who have undergone a mastectomy.
  • Where is Liberty Breast Prosthesis?
    We're based in Bridgend, South Wales. If you would like to see where we are click here for more info.
  • Will I need to go through my Breast Cancer Nurse?
    No, you can get in contact with us directly by either calling or emailing us.
  • Do you offer a finance plan?
    Liberty offers our customers finance with PayItMonthly. Enabling customers, the option of 0% interest spread over 12 months.
  • Are they available on the NHS?
    Our custom breast forms are not available on the NHS, but this is a personal goal for us at Liberty, so we can help many more women in the future.
  • Will my health insurance cover the cost of my prosthesis?
    Some health insurances will cover the cost of a prosthesis. If you are unsure, please look at your current policy.
  • Who should I contact if I have further questions?

  • Do you make partial prostheses?
    Yes, we can provide partial breast prostheses for those who have had a partial mastectomy or have asymmetrical breasts after reconstruction.
  • Do you make nipple prostheses?
    Yes, we can custom make nipple prostheses to match your natural nipple if you have had reconstructive surgery.
  • Does the prosthesis stick to your skin?
    No, the prosthesis is held in place by the bra. It is important that you have the correct bra to ensure this.
  • How long does a prosthesis take to make?
    After your first appointment it will take around 4 weeks to create a prototype. We aim to have your final silicone prosthesis ready 4-5 weeks later. For more information please get in touch with us on 01656 768566 or email us at clinic@technovent.com.
  • Will the prosthesis be made elsewhere?
    All of our bespoke breast prostheses are made in house, providing a quick and efficient service.
  • Will I still need to wear a mastectomy bra with my prosthesis?
    No. All of our prostheses are made to fit in a regular well fitted bra. We will discuss with you the style of bras that have good coverage and support in the consultation.
  • If I have had a double mastectomy, am I able to have a bespoke prostheses?
    Yes, we can make prostheses for women who have had a double mastectomy. We can tailor make two prostheses to your own specifications. The number of appointments and manufacture time will remain the same.
  • I'm planning to lose weight, is this a problem?
    You may realise that sometimes weight changes can alter the size of your breasts. If you gain or lose a significant amount of weight your prosthesis may not match your natural breast. Small weight changes should not affect your breast size but we would advise waiting if you are planning significant weight changes.
  • How many times do I need to visit the clinic?
    You would need to visit our clinic here in Bridgend for three appointments. However, for patients traveling long distances it can be requested that the third appointment be via video call. For more information click here.
  • How long should I wait after my surgery for a prosthesis?
    It is important that you are 6 months post-treatments to allow any swelling to go down and for any wounds to heal.
  • Do I need to leave a deposit after my first consultation?
    You are welcome to have a free consultation. Should you decide to proceed with your prosthesis we will ask for a small deposit.
  • Can I bring someone to the appointment?
    Yes, we have a comfortable seating area and refreshments available.
  • Are there hotels that I can stay at while visiting the clinic?
    Yes, there are a number of hotels close to our location and have easy access links to the M4 and Bridgend Town Centre. If you would like to see where the nearest hotels are then please click here.
  • What days are available to book an appointment?
    Liberty is open between Monday and Thursday. Once you are ready to book an appointment with us we will then send you multiple available dates to choose from for your visit.
